Concept of Activity:  Field trips provide a chance for students to see the real world. Students of the pre-primary wing of OESIS International School Vashi were taken on a short and informative trip to the nearby Vashi Fire station, to make them understand the importance of community helpers in our lives.

Objective of the Activity: The objective was to enhance visual learning and crisis-handling abilities among children. The motto behind this educational excursion was to understand the work of the fire station.

Students were briefed by the officers on how to contact the fire authorities in case of an emergency by dialing 101. A demonstration drill was also conducted to explain the whole process of fire elimination.

They even gave the message to give way when we listened to the fire brigade siren, which was very informative for all of us.  At the fire station, students were exposed to different techniques to extinguish the fire. Students gained knowledge about different types of fire extinguishers. Firefighters demonstrated different water hoses used for firefighting. Different parts of the fire engine were shown. They watched how firefighters use their fire trucks in an emergency. Our children asked many questions to the firefighters. The firefighters were surprised by the inquisitiveness of our children. It was a fun-filled, informative experience for our children.

Success criteria: The trip created a powerful impact on students as they witnessed the workings of the rescue operations.
